Eelume
Eelume is a Trondheim-based deep-tech company spun off from NTNU and SINTEF that develops snake-like autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) for subsea inspection, maintenance and repair. Its flexible, modular robots can be permanently stationed at seabed docking facilities at depths up to 500 metres, performing tasks without surface support vessels. In July 2025 the company launched its M-Series AUVs for deep-sea operations, and in September 2025 Equinor acquired the Eelume S vehicle following successful field demonstrations.
