H2 Green Steel, which now operates under the brand Stegra, is a Swedish industrial company building a near-zero-emission steel plant in Boden, Sweden, using green hydrogen instead of fossil fuels in the steelmaking process. Its stated goal is to decarbonize heavy industry, which the company notes accounts for roughly 40% of global CO2 emissions, with steel alone responsible for more than 7%.
