Startup events in January 2027 – Calendar

Ireland's largest science and technology competition for secondary school students runs for four days in Dublin, 6-9 January 2027. Founded in 1965, it draws thousands of project submissions each year, with about 500 selected for the exhibition floor and judged by expert panels. The event ends with an awards ceremony naming the overall Young Scientist & Technologist of the Year, with a top prize of EUR 10,000.

The 4th Net-Zero Data Centre Summit Europe runs 12-13 January in Berlin. The summit brings together hyperscalers, colocation providers, utilities and policymakers to address Germany's 100% renewable electricity mandate, EnEfG energy-efficiency requirements and the first EU sustainability labels for data centres, moving the industry from ambition to regulatory-grade implementation.

International Green Week returns to Berlin's Messe Süd and Messe Nord halls for its 2027 edition, running 15-24 January. Bett UK 2027 runs 20-22 January at ExCeL London. The show is the UK edition of the global Bett education-technology series, bringing together schools, universities and edtech companies to showcase and discuss technology for teaching and learning.
